Have been following Dr. Bernstein’s Diabetes Solution formula since March, lost 15 lbs, and my labs are ALL NORMAL!! No longer taking medications as my bs hover around 100 with tight control. Went to my physician at Joslin clinic. He threw a fit, told me to immediately up my carbs to AT LEAST 100 grams a day, reduce my protein, etc. THEN handed me a prescription for a MEDICATION. Rationale: High protein will cause kidney failure. Your sugars will go up, but we will use the medication to bring it down! I hope to live a life for as long as I can with minimal medication therapy, and would only use medication IF NOTHING ELSE WORKED. Bernstein’s therapy IS WORKING, but my doc wants to send me out the door medication-dependent and eating a diet that has made my life miserable for many years!
